Mike Little Winter Classic Memorial Rules

1.  is held Annually the 3rd Saturday of February
 
2. "Division Placement"  is done using a randomizer wheel 
            2.1 Division Placement -  will be held ONE MONTH prior to the event. You do not have to attend this event.
                                                    Date:   January 21st 2023
                                                    Time: 9:00pm
                                                    Location: Clines House
            2.2 Results will be emailed out to all registered players upon completion of spins on the wheel
           
            2.3 Panty Game :
                       First Eliminated (Bra and Panty Wearer)- 1st eliminated is able to choose Chicago the following year and is                                                                                                    to wear the bra and panties                                      
 
3. Order of  Selection- will start promptly at 11:30pm the day of the actual tournament
            3.1 Arrival time is 11:00am, if you are late, you will be skipped until you arrive! BE ON TIME!!
            3.2 If we have 20 or less players there will be NO DOUBLE PICKS, However if we have over 20 players, players 20+                    can choose any team that has been selected from 20 on, 2x
                                   Example:  Player A is drafting 20th and takes the New Jersey Devils(they havent been taken to this                                     point in the draft),  Player B is drafting 21st and can select the New Jersey Devils again, or choose from                                  any team not taken yet.  If Player B Selects the New Jersey Devils, they are now not able to be chosen                                      again.  
             3.3 No trading of picks or teams is allowed
                                                                     
4. Frozen Game or any game that glitches out will be handled as such 
            4.1 If the issue happens BEFORE the halfway point of the 2nd period, the game is restarted (UNLESS in 5 minute                    pre lims and there is a 5+ goal lead - if this is the instance, then the game is played from glitch point on with                        existing score) 
            4.2 If the issue happens AFTER the halfway point of the 2nd period, the game is restarted and the time remaining                   from the original game will be played , with the exact score from the glitched game
 
5. Gameplay Rules: 
            5.1 Fighting is off
            5.2 Offsides is off
            5.3 Line Changes are off
            5.4 Goalie Control is set to Auto
            5.5 Penalties are off
 
6.  Preliminary games are played
            6.1 Pre Lim games are 5 minute periods 
            6.2 these games determine seeding for tournament
            6.3 Record will be lead seeding factor, followed by goals scored, followed by goals against
            6.4 coin will be flipped to determine Home and Away teams
            6.5 Tied Pre Lim Games will go to ONE overtime period, after that, if still tied, it goes to shootout
        
 
7. Tournament Games will start  following the Pre Lim Round
            7.1 Tournament Games are 10 minute periods
            7.2 brackets do NOT reseed
            7.3 Tied Tournament games go to sudden death overtime till there is a winner
            7.4 First eliminated player will wear supplied Bra and Panties  following their exit from the Tournament
            7.4.A  "Carmody Rule" (amended 2017)
                              If this player does not wear the Bra and Panties , they will wear the  bra and panties the following year                                  through the Pre Lim segment of the day. If they refuse, they forfeit their right to choose                                           Chicago and are entered into the "Order of Selection"                                                                                                                      Do not be a VAGINA, you lost and you suck, now put the Bra and Panties on.
            7.5 Lower seed is HOME TEAM throughout Tournament. Example - 1 seed is HOME over 8 seed
            7.5. A.  Losers bracket follows same as winners bracket for home and away 
            7.6  Championship Round is best of three games
            7.7 Winners Bracket Champ is HOME team for Games 1 and 3 (if nec) in Championship Round
            7.8 Previous years winner will present the "Los" and the pot to winner and pose for accompanying picture
            7.9  Winner receives 2/3 of pot, runner up receives 1/3 of pot, 3rd place receives entrance fee refund
            7.10 First eliminated is able to choose from Chicago and Detroit the following year.
            7.11 2nd eliminated gets to choose whatever team the first eliminated did not pick
            7.12 Additions and Subtractions to the Tournament are to be presented to all participating players through email.               7.13 A vote is called through email. The point is to be transparent.
            7.14 If anything happens out of the ordinary, or any decision needs to be made with in any aspect with the HAI it                          will be deciphered in a quorum of JP Domanico, Chris Hychalk, Ed Juarez and Tom Keeley with Mike                                       Cline brought in as the tie breaking vote if needed.
            7.15 As the Founder of the HAI, Mike Cline wields the power to override any decision he feels is against the                                  best interest of the HAI and its players.
 
 8. Trash Talking -  is expected and encouraged, however, there is NO PHYSICAL CONTACT with a player who is in game
             8.1 All participants are adults. No teasing, fucking with or arguments should be taken as serious, this is all for fun
             8.2  "The Domanico Rule" Any physical reaction to any harassment is inappropriate and will lead to the player                                 being ejected from the Cline Household
             8.3  ITS FOR FUN
          
 9. Sobriety - is not encouraged for this event, if you win the tournament sober, your win will forever be tarnished with an                        asterisk, this is known as the "Hychalk Rule"
          
10. Controllers (2017)
          10.1 players are to supply their own controller, 3 button or 6 button are legal controllers
          10.2 if you are borrowing a controller be sure it gets back to who you borrowed it from
          10.3 "The Nicaraguan Rule"
                       CARRY your controller with you. If you leave it at a system and a game is started using your controller, you                          can not take your controller back till after said game is completed. This can not stop you from starting your                        next game either, you will have to borrow a controller and play your game - tough shit.                                                                                                                        KEEP YOUR CONTROLLER ON YOU. 

11. Paperwork  (2017)
            11.1  Each player is responsible for filling out their OWN scores on the big board. Be sure to always enter your goals scored first. If you write the wrong score or dont write a score, only you are at fault for your faulty seeding.

12. Tim Horton Award (2016)
           12.1 Through the course of the day, players can vote for the most intoxicated player. These votes will be tallied                          before the LOSER BRACKET FINAL and the Award presented BEFORE the CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

13. the "Golden Nugget" Award (2016)
           13.1 This award will be presented to the player who gives up the most goals in ONE single TOURNAMENT game.                                                 This Award will be presented BEFORE the CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

14. NO ear protection is allowed
           14.1  ear protection of any kind is no longer allowed. The point of the tournament is to survive everything from intoxication, drugs, food comas and endless heckling. This is what makes a HAI CHAMPION! Not putting on your ear protection and blocking us out like you are at home alone. This is a communal event, it is supposed to be hard. If you cant take it, get a thicker skin or maybe HAI isnt for you!

15. Pre FINALS SHOTS are mandatory - one for each finalist done BEFORE the finals start

16. Golden Beads -
                               16.1The player who administered the anal beading will place 1 Golden Beaded necklace  around the                                             neck of any player he defeats by 5 goals or more, in pre lims AND tournament. Beads awarded                                               during Pre Lims may be removed before tournament play. Some players may get beaded multiple                                           times in the day.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                (beads supplied by HAI)

17. The Golden Rod - is given to a player who is vocally complaining. That player MUST carry the rod for 1 game. After that they can pass it on to anyone who is bitching VOCALLY. After their time served, If no one else is bitching they may set the rod down and wait till they hear someone else complaining.
